Meet Joelle

Joelle (Joey) is my daughter. She passed away on September 29, 2018.

She only had one toy her whole life — a little stuffed flamingo. It stayed with her in Room 2C12 at UNC Chapel Hill hospital, and it still sits next to her urn today. She never left that room. Never saw the sky.

But somehow… she still found a way to fly.

Not in the way I thought she would. But in a way I could’ve never imagined. When Joelle died, I met Jesus face-to-face for the first time. Not in a church. Right there in that room. That little flamingo became a reminder. First, it moved into my heart. Then it became a game.

And now — it’s found you.

Every flamingo you find is part of her story — and mine. A reminder that love keeps going. That souls don’t stay still.
